This oil painting on artists canvas board is identified on the back as being "The road to Mount Washington" but the artist did not sign it. It is an attractive painting which appears to be made by a skilled artist. Also on the back is a label from a Boston gallery. It appears to have been made around 1930.
Given the smaller size, 12"x16", it is likely a plein air painting. That size canvas board is still popular among outdoor painters, because it is easy to transport and fits in many standard paint-boxes.
The painting is being sold as-found. It is in good condition, and it's original frame shows some wear. The backing paper is ripped, but it only served a cosmetic function, and is not really needed. The paper covered up the painting's title, anyway! The frame size is 15"x18.5"
