Rockport Massachusetts artist Ronald Seager (1930-2005) was an active participant in the Cape Ann art scene. In addition to many fine marine paintings, he also produced several lovely oil-on-panel plein air countryside views.
This one is signed on the back and features a barnyard with red buildings. See my other Seager paintings for other paintings made at this location which I call "The Red Farm". The location is most likely in Vermont, a favorite inland painting location for Cape Ann artists.
The oil painting is in original, good condition. The prepared hardboard measures 12"x16" and the new gold frame is approx. 15"x19".
