This is an early albumen print from about 1870, showing the sculpture of Paris by Canova. The details are sharp and the marble sculpture is dramatic against the dark brown background. It's mounted on heavy card stock, as was customary for photos of that era, and is identified in ink on the mount, under the photo.
This view into the past is collectible, and when framed it will be a sophisticated addition to your home or office.
The print size is 8.5" x 6", the mount is 15" x 11.5" The photo is in excellent condition. The mount shows wear, and a few small tears (near the edges of the mount) have been been mended with archival tape, from the back . The card stock has cut, rounded corners.
