This rare Thomas Steinman Evergreen Studio Amethyst White Feather W-247 Vase is a massive 9 inches tall with a base of 2 1/2 inches and an opening of 4 1/2 inches. This was purchased at an estate auction. There are a few very minor air bubbles and some wear on the bottom of the vase from someone moving the vase around. The bottom picture shows some wear and what looks like a chip but is a signature marking. This vase is very heavy weighing in at 4 pounds! Exceptional vase in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. This vase is MARKED and can be seen in the last picture.
Please review the high resolution pictures because they are part of the
description. The pictures are taken with a macro lens which show exceptional detail. Please review each picture carefully and contact with any questions. Any white or glare spots, or discoloration on the item are camera flash, inadequate or overhead lighting, unless otherwise noted.
The color is a beautiful, rich amethyst that looks nearly black in the pictures. The white stripe around the top of the vase reminds me of a feather with its wispy ends.
According to the Evergreen Studio website "Tom has been creating his contemporary blown glass since 1976. All his work is free blown glass using a variety of glass colors and rare metals to create his artwork. " This vase was made in May 1983 as inscribed on the bottom of the vase next to the signature. Guaranteed authentic and unaltered.
