In 1904, Moorcroft won a gold medal at the St Louis International Exhibition and followed up the achievement with further medals and commendations, culminating in the appointment of the Moorcroft company as Potter to HM The Queen in 1928.
Here we have an outstanding example of an 8 inch tall set of Moorcroft candle holders in a tulip design. These were produced sometime after 1987 which is determined by the mark and signature on the bottom. This set has a beautiful hand painted design of tulip flowers that surround the body of the holder. One holder is a cobalt blue and the other is terra cotta brown but they still go together and each is artist signed.
Exceptional candle holder set in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze, no crazing, no repairs. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process.
Authentic and signed appropriately with the Moorcroft symbol and artist signed. All pictures are original and un-edited. Height: 8", Base: 4 7/8" , Rim Opening: 2 3/4" ID2348
