Cambridge Pottery was made in Cambridge, Ohio, from about 1895 until World War I. The factory made brown glazed decorated artwares with a variety of marks, including an acorn, the name Cambridge, Oakwood, or Terrhea. Cambridge is one of the minor art pottery companies and because they worked only about twenty years, usually there is not much to be found.
Here we are lucky to have an outstanding 10 3/4 inch tall Oakwood Ewer available. The glaze on this particular piece is exceptionally well done and is very reminiscent of a majolica-style glaze. This ewer is in exceptional original condition.
Outstanding ewer in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches, no crazing no repairs.Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. The white spots are studio light reflections.
