Frankart, Inc., New York, New York, mass-produced nude dancing lady lamps, ashtrays, and other decorative Art Deco items in the 1920s and 1930s. They were made of white lead composition and spray-painted. Frankart Inc. and the patent number and year were stamped on the base. Frankart also made green metal figural clocks.
This Frankart piece is a wonderful brass gazelle trinket bowl. Probably originally designed to be an ash receiver but wasn't used for that purpose as there is no ash residue. Perfect art deco piece that is wonderful to display. Use as a catch all. Perfect desk accessory to hold paper clips and the like. Displays well from all angles.
Wonderful ashtray in that it is no chips, no cracks, minor wear to base and brass. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. I cannot detect any evidence of repair or modification. Please review the high resolution pictures because they are part of the description. The pictures are taken with a macro lens which show exceptional detail. Please review each picture carefully and contact with any questions.
