The Weller Pottery produced Besline from 1920-25. This is one of John Lessell's signature line that he designed for Weller. The lustered orange glaze is very similar to that of the Lustre line but it is decorated with flowers, berries or leaves in white. Many of the Besline examples are prone to having wear to the orange overglaze with bright white showing through. Finding an example of Besline in perfect condition can be difficult, and the prices for which can be very competitive.
This is a marvelous example of the Besline trophy vase. This vase is decorated in Virginia creepers with leaves, vines and berries. No issues to the exterior of the vase and the decoration is perfect. Such a breathtaking piece. A breathtaking piece sure to claim your heart. Great gift or keep to add to your collection. Impressed number 8.
Wonderful vase in that it has no cracks, minor scratches to glaze at base and minimal minor crazing. These issues appear more pronounced due to a macro lens used in photography. Looks impressive in person. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. I cannot detect and repairs or modification to this piece. The white spots are studio light reflections. I cannot detect any evidence of repair or modification. Please review the high resolution pictures because they are part of the description. The pictures are taken with a macro lens which show exceptional detail. Please review each picture carefully and contact with any questions.
