This is a beautiful double vellum / double mat vase hand decorated by Herman Moos in 1924. Herman Milton Moos was born in Nuremburg, Germany, and came to the United States in 1924. He decorated pieces at Rookwood Pottery for only a few years, between 1924 and 1926. His work is generally found on Matte Glaze pieces. The melding of pink to purple at the base with the hand decoration on the bottom which can be seen when displayed. A very impressive example of this vase and a pleasure to admire. Displays perfectly from all sides and angles. You are just a few mouse clicks from having this delivered right to your door.
Exceptional vase in that it has no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze and free from crazing and repairs. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. I cannot detect any evidence of repair or modification. Please review the high resolution pictures because they are part of the description. The pictures are taken with a macro lens which show exceptional detail. Please review each picture carefully and contact with any questions.
Authentic and signed appropriately with the Rookwood symbol and shape number. Artist signed.
