Muncie Pottery started production of art pottery in 1919 as the Muncie Clay Products Company. Muncie Pottery started as a subsidiary of the German-American Clay Company. Muncie Pottery like so many of the other American art pottery companies closed its doors as a victim of the depression in 1939.
The gloss green is a beautiful glaze with speckles of brown. This is a nice mantle or cabinet vase. Beautiful shape that will please any collector. This is impressed on the bottom with # which is the decorator mark. In my opinion, this would make a wonderful addition to any Muncie Pottery collection or any pottery collection.
Exceptional vase in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze. FREE from crazing. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. I cannot detect any repairs or restoration to this piece. The white spots are studio light reflections. Please review the high resolution pictures because they are part of the description. The pictures are taken with a macro lens which show exceptional detail. Please review each picture carefully and contact with any questions.
