Arts and Crafts tooled leather magazine rack Item# 12587 Circa 1899
32" high 17 1/2" wide 10" deep
This is an unusual English Arts & Crafts magazine rack that I purchased in Scotland in the 1980's. It has an oak frame and base with hand tooled floral leather sides and brass handle. The leather is raised and tooled then upholstered with nail heads to the sides of the rack. The flowers are hand painted in purple flowers.
The piece is in good condition with the exception of a spot on one side where some idiot put a price tag. That can be fixed. There are other places where there is loss of color or spotting that just comes with age and usage. The handle is loose on one side. I am not quoting shipping and prefer that the buyer arrange pick up, packing and shipping with Crater & Freighters or the shipper of your choice at buyers expense

The retailer in me wants more dimension, color, texture and artistry. Beauty or whimsey are a must.
