This is a first edition copy of John Steinbeck's The Pearl published by The Viking Press, New York in 1947. There is no dust jacket, there are a few blems but the binding & spine are good. The black line drawings are by Jose' Clemente Orozco. They are powerful in the boldness and emotion. The type was set in Janson and Times New Roman Types by Westcott & Thompson, Inc. and printed in the U.S.A. by Haddon Craftsmen
I was born the year this book was published and it hold great meaning to me. It is a simple tale of greed and a lesson on doing the right thing.
A great book.
