This is an unsigned Art Deco running dog ashtray made of bronze and marble. My best guess that it is by Franz Hagenauer of Wein Austria. It is unsigned but the stylized charging Doxie is a strong clue. It can be found in many of his other works. The ashtray measures 7 3/4" long by 6 " wide and stands 4" high. The condition of the bronze is excellent, the marble has chips on the front corners and a crack in back where the dog is mounted. The signature may be under the dog but I wouldn't want to make pressure on the crack by unscrewing the two nuts & bolts. Although most of us no longer smoke the collecting goes on for ashtrays, bronzes and Hagenauer objects.
