This is from my recent trip to Carmel where I am finishing up the estate of Jenna McMahon. My friend was an early television comedy writer. She was best known for The Carol Burnett show, Mama's Family and several other sitcoms. She was a three time Emmy winner for her humor, which was mighty. Jenna was also a major collector of all things beautiful. This is the fifth year of clearing the estate, three with Jenna and two with her daughter. The proceeds benefit her heirs and favorite charities. This ring was in an appraisal envelope but as I type the information I can see it is the wrong ring paired with the wrong appraisal. So, lets wing it with what I do know: The ring is hallmarked 18k and stamped MM. It is yellow gold in a size 6 1/2. There are sixteen small diamonds of SI-Si2 quality and various color. They surround an oval shaped milky opaque opal with intense green flash. The opal measures 12mm long by 10mm wide. The ring weighs 4.64 grams. There is a gallery that runs around the setting that give the opal a lot of flash. The opal has one pencil dot sized black dot on the back inside that does not show on the front. The ring is in good condition. The price tag reads $1895.00 so I will sell it for $1100.
