This is an Austrian Amphora bowl. It has a textured slightly iridescent geometric blue background with raised vines and abstract flowers. Applied in raised pink with golden veins are linking 2 1/2" flower with high fired porcelain jeweled centers. Each jewel is a different set of colors similar to natural stones and minerals. I believe this vase is by Paul Dashel and has remnants of his sticker on the bottom. The bowl measures 7" tall with an exaggerated waist. The opening on the bowl is 4" wide and the circumference is 28" at the widest point. This vase is featured in the book Monsters and Maidens as Dornenkrone by RStK. The condition is very good. here is slight loss of finish on one of the vines and a tiny ding on one flowered jewel. The bowl is otherwise in excellent condition.
