Offered for sale is this attractive late 19th century sterling silver locket and collar.
The locket and collar are in very good condition with traces of usage. The locket has some minor indentations on the back. There is one rim and perspex present inside and it opens and closes as it should. The locket would have originally has a thicker bale but has been replaced by a substantial ring/hoop.
This is a good size locket and measures approx 1 5/8ths inches excluding the bale by just over 1 1/4 inch wide. The chain measures 15 1/2 inches by 1/2 inch wide.
The locket has an English hallmark and was assayed in Birmingham in 1883/84. The chain has been fully tested for solid silver. The total weight is 39.8 grams in total.
