Offered for sale is this novel late 19th century 15ct gold shell brooch with three cultured pearls inside the shell and enamel foliage and a turquoise and seed pearl bug on the outside of the shell. This is such a delightful brooch and a good size measuring 1 3/4 inches by just under 1 inch.
The brooch tests for 15 carat gold (with a metal pin at the back) and the bug is made of sterling silver with gold legs. The total weight is 8 grams.
The condition is generally very good, however, there is a fair amount of enamel loss so please study my photo's showing this.
This gorgeous brooch will arrive in a quality brand new gift box.
