How often do you "upsell" to your customers? Are you afraid to do it for fear customers will find you tacky or pushy? You're not alone. Practice developing a soft-sell approach and do it well, and many customers will actually appreciate it.

When someone contacts you regarding a particular piece, and you have an interesting selection of similar items or something that would nicely complement the item, it's perfectly OK to point it out to the customer, and tell them where they can find it. You'll be surprised at how many people are interested, and glad to know that you are a resource for such items.

Practice is the name of the game with upselling. If you make it a goal to apply it regularly and refine how you make your suggestions, you can become really comfortable with doing it, and customers will respond positively.
