How do I pay for my purchase?

To pay using your PayPal Account

  1. At checkout, select PayPal.
  2. Click the red 'Place Your Order' button.
  3. On the Thank You page that follows, click the 'Pay with PayPal' button.
    or
    Click the 'Buy Now with PayPal' button on the Purchase Order, which can be found by clicking My Account > Orders | Offers | Questions > Open Purchase Orders.
  4. the next page, click the 'Pay with PayPal' button.
  5. On the PayPal popup, sign in to your PayPal account to complete the payment.

Note:

If you receive an error like the one below, your PayPal and Ruby Lane shipping address do not match. The error is received from PayPal, not Ruby Lane. Changing your shipping address within your PayPal account should correct the error.

PayPal's validation has failed:

city: Value is invalid
state: Value is invalid
zip: Value is invalid


To use your Debit or Credit Card without a PayPal Account

  1. At checkout, select PayPal.
  2. Click the red 'Place Your Order' button.
  3. On the Thank You page that follows, click the 'Pay with PayPal' button.
    or
    Click the 'Buy Now with PayPal' button on the Purchase Order, which can be found by clicking My Account > Orders | Offers | Questions > Open Purchase Orders.
  4. On the PayPal popup, click the 'Pay with Debit or Credit Card' button and follow the instructions provided OR Click the credit card logos below the blue PayPal Credit button to 'Pay with Debit or Credit Card'.


To pay using PayPal Credit

  1. At checkout, select PayPal Credit.
  2. Click the red 'Place Your Order' button.
  3. On the Thank You page that follows, click the blue 'PayPal Credit' button.
    or
    Click the 'Buy Now with PayPal' button on the Purchase Order, which can be found by clicking My Account > Orders | Offers | Questions > Open Purchase Orders.
  4. On the PayPal popup, sign in to your PayPal account to select PayPal Credit and complete the payment.

Notes:

  • If the PayPal button does not appear, it's likely the shop owner needs to add shipping, insurance or both to the order. Once all costs are added, the order will display the PayPal payment button.
  • Successful PayPal and PayPal Credit payments will automatically be recorded on the purchase order history and can be seen by both the buyer and the shop owner.
  • The Debit or Credit Card option may not be available for all shops.
  • PayPal Credit is subject to application and approval by PayPal.  Visit PayPal's website for more information.


To pay with a Credit or Debit Card

Shops that accept credit cards process payments with their own merchant accounts.  Those credit card payments are not processed on Ruby Lane. Generally, the shop owner will contact you at the phone number you supplied when choosing Credit Card at checkout.  Shops may have other means to collect credit card payment information, however, Ruby Lane recommends doing so by telephone.  

Note: Communicating sensitive credit card information via email is strongly discouraged.  


To pay using Money Order or Check

Shops that accept payment by Check or Money order typically note instructions in their individual Terms of Sale, which are included on the purchase order confirmation email you received from Ruby Lane.   
Additional information can also be obtained from the shop by using Email Shop on the Purchase Order or any of that shop's pages.
