To help educate buyers and sellers on how to spot fakes and reproductions, Ruby Lane its pleased to announce that today it launched a new site called

Serving as the new online information source for those who want to research or identify fakes and reproductions relating to the antiques & vintage collectibles market, RealorRepro is powered by Ruby Lane.

RealorRepro offers an extensive, free library of articles, information, and photographs on thousands of items spanning all categories and periods. Also, buyers can research items while antiquing, via RealorRepro's mobile format that is smart phone and tablet-friendly.

“When buying or selling antiques and vintage collectibles, it is important to be able to identify whether an item is authentic or whether it is a reproduction,” said Palmer Pekarek, Director of New Business Development and Communications at Ruby Lane. “The new site provides thousands of articles and photos that detail specific attributes to look for when determining the authenticity of an item.”

Real Or Repro is endorsed by Mark Chervenka, a renowned expert on antique and vintage reproductions who also contributed much of the site's content. It will remain current with new monthly contributions from industry wide experts including Chervenka.

“Ruby Lane is a vetted site, which provides buyers with the peace of mind to shop with confidence,” says Pekarek. “Few antique and vintage sites require that the items they list be authentic. We saw a great need to help educate both buyers and sellers, and created RealorRepro for their use.”

In 2012, Ruby Lane began participating in the ResellerRatings program. This third party program allows recent buyers to rate their experience shopping on any participating site. As of today, over 1,000 buyers have rated their Ruby Lane shopping experience, and we are pleased to report that we currently hold an overall positive rating of 9.37 out of 10.

Here is how ResellerRatings describes their program:

"ResellerRatings' goal is to offer first-hand customer accounts of online retailers to highlight the best and help shoppers avoid the rest, and to help great retailers excel. 1,946 retailers, including leading brands like Barnes & Noble, Zappos, B&H Photo, and, participate at ResellerRatings to survey customers, monitor reviews, and resolve issues.

You'll see the ratings and reviews on Google Shopping, and next to Google and Bing search results.

Ruby Lane is proud to enjoy an ongoing high rating through ResellerRatings. As always, we and our shops will continue to strive to maintain the highest quality standards possible.
