Creative Hands is Ruby Lane's monthly newsletter celebrating the unique and exceptional works of the jewelry artisans on Ruby Lane. This month's selection of jewelry which combines various types of components into one fabulous piece. Enjoy!


In 2012, Ruby Lane began participating in the ResellerRatings program. This third party program allows recent buyers to rate their experience shopping on any participating site. As of today, over 1,150 buyers have rated their Ruby Lane shopping experience, and we are pleased to report that we currently hold an overall positive rating of 9.40 out of 10.

Here is how ResellerRatings describes their program:

"ResellerRatings' goal is to offer first-hand customer accounts of online retailers to highlight the best and help shoppers avoid the rest, and to help great retailers excel. 1,946 retailers, including leading brands like Barnes & Noble, Zappos, B&H Photo, and, participate at ResellerRatings to survey customers, monitor reviews, and resolve issues.

ResellerRatings features the highest quality consumer reviews from actual customers. We require an order number with each review, we allow merchants to post replies in response to reviews and to flag reviews for verification, and we apply fraud detection techniques to prevent and detect fake &"shill" reviews. Reviews are not invented by's staff nor are any reviews allowed to be posted by merchants."

Both Google and Bing display the ratings and reviews, including throughout Google Shopping, and within sponsored AdWords ads.

To help celebrate our 15th year in business, we have reduced our shop set-up fee to $15 for new shop owners wanting to sell on Ruby Lane.

2013 will be full of 15-year anniversary promotions, and we want to continue our celebration beyond our current buyers and sellers, to include new shop owners who join the site.

Beginning February 1st, 2013 through December 31st, 2013, all new shops who join Ruby Lane only pay a $15 set-up fee instead of the usual $75 fee. You must request to open by December 31st to receive the promotion.

Hands-On Mentoring
Our free Shop Mentoring Program offers personalized, optional guidance to new shops. Our Roving Mentors cruise the site on an ongoing basis, offering optional tips and guidance to sellers who would like help improving their shop. Our Ruby Lane shop Mentors are veteran shop owners who are/have been Ruby Lane shops themselves. They understand what it takes to make an online shop successful, and what pitfalls to avoid - especially if you're new to the process.

We're a Juried site
We take pride in the products we offer, so we vet and jury every seller on the site. We want to give our shoppers the best possible online experience for Vintage as well as Handcrafted Jewelry. Try finding that anywhere else online! We also have tools in place to make sure sellers follow our guidelines for selling on Ruby Lane.
