Ruby Plaza Shop of the Day: Treasure Island

Ruby Plaza Shop: Treasure Island

Ruby Lane Shop:: Oban Antiques

Owners Name: Pam Baker

A little introduction: I have been collecting antiques for almost as long as I can remember, and selling them in one way or another for over 40 years. I like their story. That is, I like to think about what they have seen that I haven't...And of course I love beautiful things. My weaknesses are silver and old books. And a lot of other stuff.....

Favorite item in your shop?
Scottish Provincial Silver Paper Clip: Frazer Ferguson and MacBean, Inverness

Scottish Provincial silver is so rare, but what I really love about this is that it can be so decorative and so useful at the same time. I like my silver to work, not just lie around looking pretty.

What got you started selling online?
I got my first PC in June 1999, read 'Windows 98 for Dummies', and opened a shop on Ruby Lane in October. I suppose I thought 'Why not?' Our 'bricks& mortar' business was very seasonal and selling online proved to be a very useful addition. We even got Ruby Laners coming into our 'real'shop. The Ruby Family (in every sense) has been an important part of my life ever since.
