A great fascination for the Canadian Arctic has led David Bernett to depict the Inuit way of life and the wildlife of this area in his marble sculptures. This bas relief sculpture in perlato marble depicts an Inuit child playing with two husky puppies. The piece is signed by David Bernett, in the lower right hand corner. A certificate of authenticity is attached to the back. Dimensions are 10 (height) X 12 (width) inches and approximately 6/8 inch thick.

David Bernett was born in Ottawa, Ontario, and is well known in international circles for his carved marble relief sculptures since 1970. Some of the largest companies who have commissioned "Bernett" sculptures are: Dow Chemical, Hitachi, Microsoft, Kraft Foods, Motorola, Canadian Institute, Omni, Kodak Canada, North American Life, Great West Life, Manufacturers Life, many Chartered Banks, National Hockey League and Canada Football League. To commemorate the Toronto Blue Jay's world series victory, a large sculpture was commissioned by the City of Toronto and is on display at the Skydome. The "Canadian Open Tennis Championship" and "The DuMaurier Classic" through Imperial Tobacco have been awarded sculptures since 1979. The Prime Minister of Canada, in June 1995, purchased sculptures to welcome the world leaders at the G-7 Conference in Halifax. David Bernett marble sculptures grace the private and corporate collections of art lovers the world over.
