Vintage November, 1946 Canadian Pacific Railway Dining Car Menu

Ever wonder how you could dine today on your choice of a Table D'Hote dinner of roasted chicken, fresh mushrooms sauted with noodles, crabmeat newburg, or macaroni au gratin served with your favorite entree, side dish and dessert for $1.25. Sip a cup of coffee or tea for ten cents. Down a glass of soda, ginger ale or seltzer water for twenty cents. Then, sit back and relax as you puff on your favorite cigar or cigarette for ten to twenty five cents (depending on make). Then go back in time till November, 1946, hop aboard this Canadian Pacific train in Vancouver, Calgary, Moose Jaw or Winnipeg, enjoy the scenic wonders as you eat to your hearts content while traveling across Western Canada, And if you're lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of the scarlet coat of a Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer on horseback (depicted on the cover of this menu) as he patrols the western plains. This menu measures 9 3/4" x 6 3/4" and except for one small crease in the lower right hand corner is in excellent condition. The color photo of "The Mountie" shown on the cover of this menu is by Yousuf Karsh, one of the most famous and accomplished portrait photographers of all time. It appeared in an earlier issue of Maclean's Magazine.
