The vast majority of Half Dolls were produced between 1900 and 1920. Half dolls are often found unmarked, marked Germany or with a four or five digit mold number. Good German Half Dolls with arms away or nice detailing and clothing can be valued at $100 to $300; Half Dolls with elaborate hair and rare accessories can bring several hundred dollars.

This fabulous porcelain Half Doll is elegantly dressed, with a yellow matching wide brimmed hat, with a plumed seafoam green feather,which do not hide her finely sculpted features. Her hair is well styled and left hand is bent at the elbow and is placed away from her body. Her other arm is bent also at the elbow, with her fingers touching her chest.

This 4" beauty has the letters Foreig on the front, with a small chip after the g, so possibly the letter n was there and the word is foreign. On the back are the numbers 15390. Even the small chip can not detract from the wonderful features of this Half Doll.
