Vintage Round Crown Millinery Wooden Hat Block

Think back in time when Millinery's of by-gone years did not have today's technology to create their fashions and had to improvise with whatever they had at hand. This vintage round crown wooden millinery hat block is a prime example. Craved from a solid block of wood this hat block measures 7" high, 26 1/4" in circumference and 6 3/4" x 6 3/4" at the base. There is a crack on the right side that runs from the front to the back of the block. Dating back to around the early 1920's this hat block has great patina and signs of use with pin holes from when the milliner would tack her material to this form to shape her hat. Hat blocks make a wonderful decorative piece for just about any room in your house and are a great place to drop your hat on after a hard days work.
