Great attention to detail and color went into this fabulous Bisque Figurine of a mother carrying her shawl covered baby. We were told at the sale where she was acquired that the grandmother had brought the figurine from France. She might have stepped out of the French Revolution, as the native French garb suggests. You can run your fingers over the embossed apron, the string of beads on her neck, the ruffled collar, and the lines and folds of the light blue and red and white striped shawl. There is a slight damage to the tip at the bottom of the shawl in the back, and a few small chips at the bottom of the base, otherwise she is in excellent condition. There are no markings or signature that I could find.

The figurine is 15" high and a wonderful piece of art for anyone who is enamored with period pieces.
