This is a beautiful water set made by Sowerby's Ellison Glassworks LTD. United Kingdom circa 1940. Advertised as "Tynesyde Glassware", This water set is also called "Oxford" or just # 2481. Beautiful heavy glassware. Complete set. One-1 3/4 pint Jug (5.5 inches high) and 6 footed tumblers. No blemishes or damage of any kind. One tumbler foot is slightly uneven and wobbles just the slightest, little bit, as often happens with depression era, machine pressed glassware. A tablecloth prevents the wobbling. This pattern is ALMOST IDENTICAL to the American made, Indiana Glass Company's and or/TIARA Exclusives "Constellation" pattern and would be a fine addition to your collection of that pattern. I have another set identical to this one made by the same Sowerby's Ellison Glassworks however, it's made in Uranium Glass and is a beautiful, glowing shade of Yellow-Green. (#00217 see pictures.)
