Folk Art platter or tray made and hand painted by Negatha Peterson in her Erwin Pottery business in Erwin TN. It is one of only two pieces made, and the other one is in a private collection. Shown on page 51 of W. Allison Burnette's "The Collector's Guide to the Small Erwin Tennessee Area Potteries". Negatha's painting on this platter depicts the Southern Pottery Company of Erwin TN as it was in 1916. Southern Potteries later became Blue Ridge Pottery where Negatha was hired as a painter and ...
