Offered is a spectacular bluebill hen decoy that is attributed to William G. Loney (1878-1956) of Milford, Ontario. This decoy has original paint with minor wear. Offered is a rare black duck decoy carved by Augustus "Gus" Wilson 1864-1950 of Portland, Maine. Gus was lighthouse keeper, and many of his decoys were carved at Marshall's Point light. This decoy is circa 1930-1935. It has all the things that Wilson is known for including Carved eyes, raised wings, inletted head, flat bottom, and simple body lines. The decoy has been hit by shot, and there is some touch up to the bill. This is a great piece by a carver whose decoys are highly prized.

This is a copy of the 1st book that was published about Mason Decoys. It was published in 1974 and is long out of print. It covers all the decoys that Mason made with photos in both color and black and white. The book is in very good condition. The dust jacket is in good shape with a couple of minor tears on the back. Offered is a bluebill decoy by Beany Anderson 1882-1950 of Trenton, Ontario. Anderson was a house painter who in the 1930s saw some Ray Andress decoys and developed his own style that was similar to Andress. His decoys are solid body decoys. This bluebill is in very good original paint with detailed bill carving, scratch painting, and a wide paddle tail. It has an inletted weight, and a line tie. Anderson decoys in this condition are not found every day.

This is a pair of bluebills from the Dunville, Ontario area. They are is near mint condition with rasp and feather and bill carving detail. They have a rig brand on the bottom DS 55. The original tag that was on them when I got them stated that they were carved by Doc Smith who was a friend of Ken Anger, and his influence can be seen in the decoys. They were rigged for hunting at one time, but have seen very light use.

This is a relief carved owl on an old piece of barn board. There owl is 16 inches tall, and the branch is also relief carved. The entire piece measures 17 inches wide and 28 1/2 high, and has a farm scene painted at the bottom. There is a name cold stamped in the lower right, but it is illegible. This is a great piece of folk art in excellent condition.

This pair of mini geese were carved by Ralph Reed of Chincoteaque, VA. According to Berkey's book on Chincoteaque carvers which was published in 1981 it had been many years since Ralph had carved any decoys. These decoys both are in original paint, with carved feathers, and different neck positions. Both have a repair to their neck. One is about 8 inches long and the other is about seven inches long, and they both have tiny glass eyes and are signed on the bottom by the carver.

This bluebill decoy was carved by Reggie Birch of Chincoteaque, VA. It was carved in the style of Ira Hudson, and the paint was aged to make it appear 100 years old. Reggie is one of the top carvers in the US, with a long waiting list for his decoys. When he sets up at the Easton Waterfowl Festival he is sold out every year before the show opens with his decoys being purchased by the other dealers. This is an excellent hard to find decoy by a top notch maker.

Offered is a goldeneye decoy from Quebec, Canada. The carver is unknown to me, but is very similar to the decoys of Waterhouse and Bill Cooper. It is in old working repaint and has great carving on the back, tail and the bill. It is a two piece decoy that is probably hollow with the two halves being held together with five screws. This decoy has been hit by shot, and there is some flaking to the paint on the breast. This is an excellent early Quebec decoy.

This Canvasback decoy was carved by John Mcloughlin of Bordentown, NJ. This is one of John's very early decoys. It was at one time identified as a John Dawson, but the opinions are that it is a McLoughlin. It has the normal gunning wear, with very good original paint and great head carving. This goldeneye decoy was carved by one of the well known Paquette family from Quebec. Upon showing this decoy to collectors who collect decoys from Quebec all agree that it was carved by one of the Paquettes, and many believe it was carved by Joseph. It has spectacular feather carving on the back, and great detailed carving on the bill. It still has the weight and line ties on it, and it has probably the best old paint surface on any decoy that I have had.
