So Pretty In Pink and Deliciously Feminine with a Raised in Relief Deeply Molded 3-Dimensional Flower and Leaf Open-work Design. It has an Overall Warm Hue giving it a Superb Realistic Appearance and looks Gorgeous on Cozy Sweaters, Jacket Lapels and Romantic Dresses! It is 100% Guaranteed to be Genuine Old Celluloid!

It is in EXCELLENT Pristine Condition WITHOUT any chips or cracks and is stamped in back "JAPAN". Measurements are 2-1/4" by 1-1/2" and closes with an injected "C" Catch Clasp in Back which is a significant factor in Old Vintage Plastic Celluloid Jewelry. The paint is set into the Brooch during the making of it originally and not added on later.

Celluloid was invented by John Wesley Hyatt in 1869 and was widely used in 1890-1917 all through the Victorian Era, Art Nouveau and parts of the Art Deco Period. Because Celluloid is highly flammable, manufacturing was for a limited time and had discontinued until safer plastics had been introduced, making this Celluloid Brooch Highly Collectible today.
