Vintage brown kid skin leather gloves are so fantastic I'd keep them myself, but they don't fit. Waa! Still held together with the original Gant Jonquet tag that (translated) means "the glove of the elite" and, on the other side, "washable with our special soap" and "total guarantee against all defects in fabrication". The tag also indicates the size is 7. Also still attached is an old Dayton's Department Store price tag, minus the price. These must have been given to someone as a gift who never wore them, maybe because their hands were too big too!

Besides the hang tags, the left glove is marked on the inside "Made in France Expressly for Dayton's" with the number 523 on one side and "Gant Jonquet Lavable Made in France" on the other side. Dayton's was a high-end department store in Minneapolis that's now closed, but in its heyday it was THE place to go for fine...everything. "I got it at Dayton's" held sway in those days.

One glove is a bit longer on the arm end, about 1/8" or so, which probably has to do with stretching the oh-so-supple leather. The hand part though is equal (because they're so supple they stretch when trying to measure, but about 7-3/8" from top of thumb to end of longest finger and 3-1/2" wide when measuring from the widest point of the thumb. Total length is 11 or 11-1/8" depending on which glove you're measuring).

I'm not kidding about the supple kidskin leather--it's soft as a whisper--and my bet is you'll pull these on and won't want to take them off because they'll feel like a very comfortable second skin.
