Antique tortoise shell pieces are from pre-ban tortoise items that were dismantled by a gentleman who used to repair old tortoise shell items. Now they're available to YOU to use--for repair, replacement, or make something new of them!

They're absolutely fantastic, thick by shell standards, with the most gorgeous coloring you can imagine. Pieces consist of half a case and parts of a box (first 3 pix and last 4 pix, respectively).

Half case measures 4-3/4" wide x 2-9/16" front to back x 1/2" high. Box parts measure top left just shy of 3-3/4" wide x 4-3/8" high, bottom left 1-3/4" wide x 3-9/16" high. The piece on the right has a crack and measures 3-5/8" wide x 5-7/8" high. Thickness--which of course varies somewhat throughout--is approximately 1/16", possibly a shade more (it was a little hard to get a ruler in there to measure!)
