Vintage Morgantown Depression glass stemware glasses are amazing! Check out the captivating 9/16" etched gold gilt trim of stylized roses adorning each panel optic glass at the top, known as #11 or Rambler Rose pattern, and try not to fall in love. I guarantee you it won't be easy. Simple line gilt trim is also applied in a narrow band below the wider one, and around the circumference of the bottoms.

Morgantown Glass Works was started in the 1890's, changed to Economy Tumbler Company in 1903, became Economy Glass Company in 1923, again became Morgantown Glass Works on July 1, 1929, and remained so until closing for good in 1972. The pattern of these glasses is 7586.

Eight claret or possibly water goblet glasses measure 6-1/2" tall x 3-3/8" across at the top and 2-5/8" across at the bottom. Five champagne/tall sherbet glasses are a hair over 5" tall x 3-5/8" across at the top and 2-3/4" across at the bottom.

These belong to a friend and we didn't have an ultraviolet light when I was at her place to take pictures, however she got her hands on one later and reports they do indeed fluoresce a bright neon green. She promises to get a pic of it to me, which I'll post pronto once I receive it.

Condition on all is near mint. The last 3 pix are of "booboo's" that appear to have happened during manufacture: first is a bubble in the glass as well as a bit of feathering to the paint around the bottom, the second is what can only be described as a crease in the glass (it is NOT a scratch), and the last is what seems to be a chip that whoever was doing the painting just painted right over. There's also a bit of roughness on the same glass and the same thing appears to have happened--painted right over it. Finally, there's a tiny rough area at about 5 o'clock on that same picture.

All in all these glasses are almost perfect though, out of this world gorgeous, the perfect accessory for the well-appointed table. Don't miss out! (Due to the fragile nature of these beauties, insurance is required with purchase and will be included in the shipping cost. As well, they'll have to be sent in an oversized package to ensure their safe arrival to you.)

Many thanks to Dottie at A Vintage Whim and Therese at Fireside Treasures for helping me to identify these glasses. Check out their shops! They're fantastic!!
