Marked Sterling and Hallmarked with a lion (925), an anchor (Birmingham) and a Gothic letter (date letter), this is a dainty spoon with a ribbed bowl and handle. The slightest of bends in the handle near the bowl is mentioned only to be precise. Engraved Bessie, as one of two spoons from an estate. The other spoon is engraved '90 and one must imagine this one is of the same time period. I think the spoons are older than the engraving but that is my personal opinion from researching date marks. The Gothic marks are earlier than the engraving, more specifically the early to mid 1800's. This spoon measures 4 inches in length and is a wonderful collectible antique.
