This is a fabulous German Art Nouveau or Jugendstil Sterling Silver Cherub brooch. Marked Sterling Silver and Geschutzt (German for trademark). This lovely brooch is dated post 1918 by the trademark symbol. The blue stone tests in the Iolite/Garnet family, so it could be either. All other stones test as glass or rhinestone. A stately, elegant 10K yellow gold genuine shell cameo with two genuine oval pearls. Marked 10k. Deep apricot brown shell with a creamy pale peach cameo. Measures 1-5/8 inches in length and 1-1/4 inches wide. Openwork frame has two oval genuine pearls, one at the top and one at the bottom. A beautiful angel skin coral cameo in a 10K yellow gold frame. The coral is opaque and quite thick. At first I thought this a hard stone cameo with just in tinge of peach - so extremely pale, it gives the lovely lady (in dramatic relief) a hint of blush on her cheek and neck.
