It was taken in a Melbourne studio, probably in the late 1870s.
The image is of good strength, with clear tones and good contrast, but with a few very minor spots and defects in the prints. The photo is generally clean and mounted on original contemporary card.
The back is printed with the photographer's stamp. 'Johnstone, O'Shannessy & Co., 3 Bourke St, Next the Post Office, Melbourne'. By Appointment HRH Duke of Edinburgh and His Excellency the Governor.
There is an ink inscription on the back which reads. 'Mr and Mrs L B Taylor, with love, C.C. P.
I assume this is an image of Miss C.C.P
It is an original photograph with original mounts.
Overall Size of mount approx 4x2.5ins (10x6cms).
