Juliana D & E Watermelon Tourmaline Rhinestone Parure

This is a wonderful Juliana parure (made by De Lizza & Elster) with emerald-cut iridescent watermelon tourmaline stones which are primarily fuchsia, purple and blue. The pieces also have mauve aurora borealis and baby blue rhinestones for accent, and all the stones are prong set. This is a really gorgeous combination of colours; the tourmaline stones have a mirror-like finish and shimmer like the sea. They were very difficult to photograph, so I have included a variety of views from different angles to try to show the effect. This set is in excellent condition, with no wear to the shiny silver plating. The bracelet looks to have been worn more often than the necklace, and the watermelon stones on the bracelet have very some very light markings on the top faces – they are not scratched, but slightly scuffed or rubbed. The necklace is 16 ¾ inches long, and is adjustable with a hook fastener; the central section with the watermelon stones is 9 inches long and 1 ¼ inches wide. The bracelet is 7 ¼ inches long and 1 ¼ inches wide and has a safety-chain. The clip on earrings are 1 ¼ inches long. This set is not signed, as Juliana jewellery was marked only with a paper hang tag. This parure is quite similar to J036, except that the tourmaline stones are emerald-cut rather than oval, and the accent stones are pale blue rather than smoky grey; I believe this particular set is the more unusual design – it is one that I haven’t seen before.
