Blenko Hand Made Turquoise Ashtray Bowl

From the wonderful Blenko Glass Company of Milton West Virginia. Blenko Glass Company has been in business since the very late 1930"s and continues to made wonderful hand blown glass today.

This ashtray is design number 632. The first to numbers of the design means that it was first produced in 1963. It is made in their signature turquoise color which was in production from 1959-1979. Therefore we can date this to between 1963-1979.

The bowl or ashtray measures 2 1/2" tall and 6 1/2" wide. The outside is heavily ribbed and bumpy. This particular design is poured into a mold and hand finished, therefore you will not see a pontil. If you are familiar with Blenko, this is similar to how the water bottles are made. No chips or cracks. Heavy for its size.

This would look wonderful as a base for setting another spectacular piece of glass on.
