Carl Erickson began the Erickson Glass Works in Bremen Ohio from 1943-1961. Mr. Erickson was a Master Glass Blower and previously had worked at Pairpont, Libbey and Blenko. He was known for his attention to detail and finished or supervised the finishing of each almost every piece.
The emerald compote or platter type top measures 9 5/8" across and sits upon an exquisite crystal bubble base. The lip on the compote edge is 5/8" tall. The entire compote is 4" tall. The bubble base has row upon row of small tight bubbles perfectly spaced apart.
The entire compote is in excellent condition, a few very small less than 1/16" rub marks on the top, but you must move it to bright light to see them. The base is magnificent. The underside of the base has a ground and polished pontil, and is very smooth allowing it to sit securely on any surface. It is very sturdy and heavy for its size, weighing almost 5 pounds unpacked. No chips, cracks or hairlines are found. In remarkable condition.
