A large hand hammered Roycroft ash tray. This is from the later period of Roycroft wares dating from approximately 1928-1938. The Roycroft Community was in East Aurora New York (not to far from Buffalo).

This ashtray is rather large and measures 8 1/4" wide from bowl edge to bowl edge. The 3 cigarette holders are 1 1/2" long and securely attached.

There is some wear to the original finish on the interior of the bowl. Also you will see two 1" long dents on the bowl base, one appears to have been made from the interior, pushing outward, and the other made from the outside pushing inside. The patina is still deep.
