Large Cabinet Card Album with Photos

This antique photo album is a bit unusual in that it is very long and narrow measureing 16" long by 7" wide. I believe the front cover is made of celluloid which has yellowed with age. The center design on the cover is embossed. The back and spine of the album are burgundy velvet. Most of the velvet has worn away. The spine is in sound condition. The clasp which would hold the album closed is missing.

Inside are a total of 23 cabinet card photographs depicting families, children, young men and women, etc. Many of these were taken in various Illinois towns including Effingham, Barry, Quincy and Decatur. The inside paper sleeves are in typical used condition. There are 3 sleeves that are torn along the bottom, and there is some overall foxing. Otherwise, this album is in very good condition.
