I believe this half doll pincushion is all original. Her lace dressed pincushion base is in excellent condition.The lace dress and overlay 'pannier's have mellowed to a beautiful dark ivory with a bit of dark foxing in the back. The china half doll is beautifully painted with brown hair piled high on her head with spill curls down each side of her neck. She is wearing a beaded headband. Her face is beautifully painted, down to the tiny beauty mark on one cheek. Her hands are folded demurely across her chest, and her off the shoulder bodice is gathered in soft folds down her arms. She is marked "Germany" with an impressed mark across the back, but I was unable to get a clear picture of the mark.

The china doll itself is 3' tall. The entire piece, including the pincushion is 6 1/2' tall. The base of the cushion is 6" in diameter.

The doll fastens to the cushion by 3 sew holes, and she could benefit from a bit of stitching as she is a bit loose.

Condition: The china doll is in excellent condition, free of chips or cracks and no paint loss. The cushion is very sturdy and also in excellent condition. The lace overlay is, of course, dotted with tiny pinholes. She is, after all, a pincushion.
