Exquisite Early Folding, Tilt Top Carriage Parasol with Carved Bone Handle

$525 USD Offers ConsideredExquisite Early Folding, Tilt Top Carriage Parasol with Carved Bone Handle

Antiques:Textiles, Linens:Parasol:Dolls
This fabulous parasol dates to the mid 1800's and would have been used by a fashionable lady of the day while riding in her carriage to shield her delicate complexion from the sun. It's incredibly dainty and feminine and the detail is just beautiful. The handle is either bone or ivory, and is carved with a gorgeous rose and twining leaf design. The finial is the same material. $175 USD Offers ConsideredSALE Wonderful Early 1900's Folk Art Crazy Quilt~Final Reduction!

Antiques:Textiles, Linens:Quilts
The wonderful quilt is in a style often referred to as "controlled crazy" because it's worked in blocks which, well, control the craziness some, rather than having it spread out unrestrained over the entire surface. We can tell it's c.1900-20 or so because it's not worked in fancy silks but in a variety of suitings, and while it's got some embroidered motifs most of the embellishment is reserved for the seams. It wasn't uncommon for a quilter to put her relatives' initials on such a quilt, much ...

This wonderful antique quilt is entirely handstitched and is in fabulous condition. This pattern has been known by a variety of names including "Six-Sided Patchwork" and "Hexagon Patchwork." An 1856 novel by Catharine Brooks Yale describes a "Job's Troubles" quilt made from red, yellow and various colored calicoes cut into hexagons. All three of these names are listed with the pattern in quilt identification books. The colors and materials in this quilt are truly stunning. The majority of the ...

SOLDSOLD Civil War Era Young Girl's Lacemaking Projects for School

Antiques:Textiles, Linens:Lace
I can't tell you how pleased I am to offer this wonderful collection of Annie Irwin's lacemaking projects. Annie was born in 1869 in Coles County, Illinois, the daughter of Civil War Officer Samuel Shepard Irwin and Sarah Noyes. I purchased these, and other family items, from Annie's great niece, who gave me the family history which I then researched through various genealogical resources. Annie and her family lived for many years in Coles County, and then, in the early 1900's moved to Rankin, ...
