Intricate design with a flared lip. No damage. In it's original condition! No paint has been applied, natural patina on this piece! All done by hand, this basket has 8 spines an 8 feet. Each spine wire is wrapped and lashed with thinner gage wire. The handle has thick twisted wrapped wire. Each end of the handles are not uniform. A definite done by hand piece! A very nice basket! These were used in a variety of ways. They were used in the bedroom to hang bed clothes, the walls or doors for towels in bathrooms or bedrooms depending on where the washstand was located. They would hang in the kitchen for utensils. This is vintage. It is in good condition for the age. The patina is old paint. These are very hard to find. All wire from my collection is used, cleaned and waxed or oiled with WD40 and wiped off. This is to keep from further corrosion. The measurement is 16 1/2 ...

This a early painted vintage wireware wall comb case with a hook on the lower wire. This is very intricate and detailed. The base of the comb case has wear and old repairs, it was used. A beautiful and very usable item. The paint is a mossy green. There are three different types of wire on this item.
