A wonderful and hard to find item! This was found in Europe and purchased in the States. The wire is woven and is is good condition. It will hold wooden spoons, silver and bakelite spoons. It is a pretty piece and functional! A great piece to add to any collection!

Intricate design with a flared lip. No damage. All done by hand, this basket has 8 spines an 8 feet. Each spine wire is wrapped and lashed with thinner gage wire. The handle has hand inward curled loops. A very nice basket! It does have sage green paint. It is 13 inches tall.

These were used in a variety of ways. They were used in the bedroom to hang bed clothes, the walls or doors for towels in bathrooms or bedrooms depending on where the washstand was located. Very uncommon. At times you may find the six or eight rack, the 12 rack is very hard to find. Originally they would be in a glass case with the rack inside. Unfortunately, some people would separate the case from the rack and turn the case into a showcase. The wire is twisted and in good condition. This can be used to store and display dinner plates or pie tins. This is great to use for parties and major holidays for pumpkin pies!
