This is a gorgeous cotton chenille bedspread featuring that famous Twin Peacock Design in vivid brilliant colors on a white background. This is a light to medium weight chenille bedspread, or one I would call a spring or summer weight.

It has easy colors to live with, and will work into almost any color scheme. This is not a reproduction!

CONDITION: Very good pre-owned condition. I cannot find any holes, tears, rips. There is one very tiny area where there is a small "rust" mark about the size of a pin head that may come out with washing. There is one area of missing chenille of about 1/4" which is on the end of the spread that hangs at the foot of the bed but otherwise everything seems to be intact.

SIZE: approximately 94" wide and 100" long. This was photographed on top of a queen size bed. This is a full size chenille spread that would will also work on a queen size bed with a bedskirt or a full size bed.

HISTORY: From the 1930's til the 1950's, there was a stretch of highway going through Georgia that was referred to as Peacock Alley. Travelers from the East Coast on their way South to vacation would see these colorful handmade chenille bedspreads hanging on clotheslines. The local ladies had found a new way to market their gorgeous bright peacock chenille bedspreads and an important cottage industry was born.
