Noritake produced this pattern ca. 1891, and it has been discontinued. The pattern itself is sometimes called Mystery # 40 by Noritake. It features peacocks or the bird of paradise in blues and yellows with scattered pink and white flowers and green leaves.
Some collectors casually call this pattern Peacock, which adds to the confusion. It is a fine white bone china with a delicately executed design. It is marked with the well known older Nippon Maple Leaf backstamp from the late 1800's. Please see the mark in the last picture.
