This is a discontinued Spode China pattern # Y4973. This pattern is called Queen's Bird.

This has the older mark on the back, which reads QUEEN'S BIRD FINE STONE, COPELAND, ENGLAND, SPODE CHINA Y4973. With a stamp of 28 in green on the side. It was made between 1962-1993.

This salad plate measures 8 1/2" across, and is in very good used condition with faint knife marks. No chips and no crazing.

Please note that in Queen's Bird pattern there is an 8" and 8 1/2" salad plate, and this is the larger one. It makes a nice size luncheon plate. This one has the semi scalloped pattern also.
