This desert scene is in excellent condition. This oil on canvas painting......framed measures 24” by 19 ½”. It makes great use of color, texture and light. It is signed H. Abernathy in the lower left corner.

Painted in 1980, and submitted to an art show, the original sticker from 1980 is still attached on the back. From a private collection.

Biography of artist: Biography: Helen Briggs Abernathy. (1909 – 1998) Studied at Olivet College and Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. She spent many years teaching in Evanston, Illinois. She lived in Tucson and Charlotte, Michigan. As an artist Abernathy is best known for her desert landscapes.
